Mission
Founded in faith, rooted in mercy. Discover the heart behind Hill of Mercy Christian Centre.
A Home for Every Tribe and Tongue
Hill of Mercy Christian Centre, also known as Mountain of Mercy, was founded in 1985 in Warri, Delta State. It is a Spirit-filled church built on the power of prayer, the authority of God's Word, and a burning passion for souls.
From a small gathering driven by faith, God has grown this church into a vibrant community reaching hundreds of families across Warri, Delta State, and beyond through the Jesus Campaign outreach ministry.
We are a people of prayer, faith, love and excellence. Consecrated to God, committed to the Word, and passionate about praise.
Our Mission
To equip members as kingdom-modelled vessels, raising them to their highest calling in Christ and serving God and humanity with passion and humility.
Shoulders We Stand On
Hill of Mercy Christian Centre has been shaped by two generations of faithful, Spirit-led leadership. Each chapter of our story bears the marks of men who answered a call greater than themselves.
Dr. Oladele Gabriel Oladipo
Senior Apostle Prophet & Founder · 1978 – 2018The story of Mountain of Mercy, now Hill of Mercy, begins with a man who heard the voice of God above the sound of his carpentry tools. Alagba, affectionately known by the congregation, was once a furniture craftsman in the city of Ibadan before God arrested his life, redirected his hands from crafting wood to building souls, and sent him to Warri.
With only a Standard Six education, he was ordained under the leadership of Eminent Captain Abiodun Emmanuel of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Society Church. That tradition shaped his deep reverence for prayer, the prophetic, and the sovereignty of God. It was from within this C&S heritage that God called him out into full-time ministry and sent him to the land of Warri in what was then Bendel State.
Senior Apostle Oladele Gabriel Oladipo answered the call into ministry in 1978, stepping out in faith long before many structures were in place. He was first ordained as a Pastor in 1985, the same year the doors of Mount of Mercy were opened in Warri. His journey deepened further when he was consecrated as an Apostle and Prophet in 1992, a recognition of the grace and authority God had placed upon his life through years of faithful service.
In 2007, his years of dedication to the Kingdom were honoured when he was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity in Church Growth by the Acts University of Theology and Seminary in North Carolina, USA. For over three decades he taught the Word, preached the gospel, and ministered deliverance to the oppressed. He served faithfully as Senior Apostle Prophet and Founder until his transition in 2018, leaving behind a legacy written not in buildings or budgets but in the lives transformed and set free under his watch.

Built on Eternal Foundations
Every ministry we run, every message we preach, flows from these six convictions.
We believe prayer is the engine of the church. Every service, every programme, every decision is bathed in prayer.
The Bible is our final authority. We preach and teach the Word with clarity, boldness, and application to everyday life.
We honour the person and presence of the Holy Spirit. We welcome His gifts, His fruit, and His power in all we do.
Evangelism is not optional. It is our mandate. The Jesus Campaign is our public declaration that Jesus saves.
We are not just a congregation. We are a family. We carry one another's burdens and celebrate one another's victories.
We give God our best in worship, in service, and in character. Excellence honours God and draws people to the Kingdom.
Over Forty Years of Mercy
From a small gathering in faith to a growing kingdom community. God's faithfulness marks every chapter.
Hill of Mercy Christian Centre opened its doors in Warri, then in Bendel State, with a small faith-filled congregation. The name "Mountain of Mercy now Hill of Mercy" was born by an open vision of a supernatural finger writing this name above the sky, a church built at the throne of grace.
Having been called into ministry in 1978 and ordained as a Pastor in 1985, Senior Apostle Oladele Gabriel Oladipo was consecrated as an Apostle and Prophet in 1992. The consecration marked a new dimension of grace and authority upon his life, following years of faithful teaching, preaching, and deliverance ministry across Warri and beyond.
Senior Apostle Oladele Gabriel Oladipo was honoured with a Doctorate of Divinity in Church Growth by the Acts University of Theology and Seminary in North Carolina, USA. The award stood as a formal recognition of decades of dedicated service and the fruit of a ministry built entirely on faith and the grace of God.
Following the transition of Founder Senior Apostle Oladele Gabriel Oladipo, Reverend Olagunju Gabriel, raised within the ministry and trained across multiple theological institutions, stepped into leadership as Lead Pastor and carried the vision forward.
Recognising that the next generation must be won for Christ early, the church established Olive Shoots Church in 2019, a dedicated children's ministry committed to the spiritual formation of young lives and raising them in the knowledge of God from an early age.
The Festival of Mercy was launched in 2019 as an annual celebration honouring the mission anniversary and Founders Day of Hill of Mercy Christian Centre. Each year the festival brings the congregation and community together in worship, gratitude, and remembrance of God's faithfulness through the years.
The church expanded its digital presence, streaming services and ministry content across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, taking the message of mercy to believers around the world.
